$799 for the base model is a joke the difference between the US dollar and AU dollar is nowhere near enough to justify such a big price increase.

Does that include tax ?
US prices are before tax !

Yep, it includes Tax, Import Duty, enough leverage to keep the same price when the dollar fluctuates, + a little bit more, since it is still Apple. Sure I'd have loved $699, but the price ain't bad.
