Ive been trying to learn about HDTV cards for Mac for a long time and have not really gotten far.

the question is: is there a law that after this yyear all HDTV cards will not be able to record to drive?

some copy protection law?

any idea where I can keep track? I found a PC site thats very active, but they never answer a Mac question.

I know about ElGato set top box, but want to keep it in my computer.

thanks rotut

Here's a link to that exact same question. Lots of people answered with links to various products. Hope that helps.

thanks this is a start

but the issue of future hard wired removal of the ability to save to drive is not mentioned. it would be a shame to get a card 'too late' to keep the recordings to disk.

right now the ElGato 500 is the only thing Ive found. but its a set top box, not a card/

thanks anyway for the help[
