New G-RAID 500GB will not play QuickTime or Avid OMF files correctly when connected to FireWire800 ports on PCI HBA cards. File transfers under these conditions also yield errors. I own two PCI HBA cards: Unibrain Fireboard800 & Sonnet Allegro FW800 - only one FW800 card installed at any time, using slot 3. Files play/transfer well with the Sonnet or Unibrain if connected to the G-RAID FW400 port, and, no errors using the FW800 port on the G-RAID with the G5 native FW800 port. However, I need the G5 native buss exclusively for the Avid MOJO DNA module. I've tested two new G-RAID 500s, my two 1394b cards & a new Unibrain FireBoard800, with the same results. My LaCie BigDisk displays none of these interface problems and my entire system is working well in all other aspects. I use the latest versions of TechTool Pro & DiskWarrior for maintenance.

Any insight into this dilemma would be extremely welcome...
