I have a G5 with a video card that has a standard Apple setup. ADC and DVI.

Now, I want to run two displays... one being DVI the other being a VGA.

Would it be better to use my main monitor with a ADC to DVI adapter then allowing me to use the DVI to VGA adapter on my second monitor?

Or would it be better to do it the other way around
Leave DVI hooked up and buy a ADC to VGA for the second monitor.

Or does it not affect the quality and hence does not matter?

Any thoughts?

I'd use the fewest adapters possible, so I'd probably just hook up the DVI display to DVI, and use an ADC-VGA adapter for the VGA display.

check the DVI plug it will have a grid of 15 or so pins on one end and a sqarish group of pins on the other. The sqare group provides the VGA signals. In the DVI spec the connector doesn't nessicarily supply VGA, I think its DVI-I vs DVI-E or something. The PCI rage128 that came with my smurf had VGA & DVI but the DVI didn't have the VGA pins.
