Hi all,

I'm a Packet8 subscriber and I keep getting email messages about their firmware upgrade, which you have to do manually if you don't use Windows. I follow their instructions on their web page, but no luck.

Has anyone had any luck installing this upgrade? If so, how did you do it?

Thanks!

Yes... I have been upgrading off my mac since I was a customer in Oct 2003.

I believe I just download the file to my desktop and then go to the web interface and do the upgrade after I select the file.

I have had problems in the past but it eventually works after a few tries. Most of the time it works on the first try.

Thanks
Rob

I should also add that (and I hate to say it) I have found MS Internet Explorer seems to work the best for the upgrade :-)

Tried it with no luck. I have my cable modem connected to an AirPort Base Station. Is it possible the AirPort has something to do with it?

Thanks,

That may be possible. What version are you running now?

I'm running the latest AirPort software (4.1?). I also use Mac OSX 10.3.7.

Thanks,

Sorry for the delay in response.

I had to kick myself for not being specific.

What version software for packet8?

Hi,

I'm not sure. How do I find out? I haven't been able to locate any Packet8 software on my hard drive and I can't remember if I installed anything when I got it.

Thanks,

Try this:

You may learn the IP address of your Packet8 broadband adapter using the Packet8 "MyIP" server by dialing 012-0003.

Once you do that, poke around at the web page. From this area is where you do your upgrades.

Let me know what you find.

That did the trick! The upgrade went smoothly with no problems. Apparently I was trying to contact the wrong IP address. Thanks for you help:-)
