I work at a recording studio where we have 3 macs, 2 Power Mac G5's for the studios, and 733 G4 (i think its a 733, but it really shouldnt matter) that we use to do our scheduling. A few weeks ago, we had a keyboard die in one of the studios, so my boss decided to grab the keyboard from the scheduling computer. Seemed like a logical choice, but when we replaced the keyboard he wanted to keep the keyboard from the G4 in the studio because he thinks it is more comfortable. Well, since he is the boss, he can really do whatever he wants, and so there it has stayed. Our only problem is that on the new keyboard we got, the eject button for the cd drive does abosolutely nothing. The G4 is running OS 9.2, and we got one of the new keyboards to run on it. Can I fix this? It's becoming very annoying to have to go into iTunes everytime I want to open the cd drive.
maybe you've been brainwashed too.

No.

The eject key on the new keyboards is supported only in OS X (as are the media keys, IIRC).

search versiontracker for "eject", and you will find at least one freeware menu-bar add-on that will allow you to open the drive tray from within any application.

That's the only solution, I'm afraid, short of upgrading to OS X.

You might have to pick up an Apple Pro Keyboard on eBay, then. (The new model is just "Apple Keyboard".)
