I have a LaCie Big Disk Extreme with 1 FW400 and 2 FW800 ports. Can I run a cable from the FW400 on my TiBook to the FW800 on the drive, then from the FW400 on the drive to my iPod?

I have heard that since the iPod has to charge it draws alot of current and want to be sure I am not going to blow out a FW port (on the drive or my TiBook)!
