Would users of these two phones please provide me with their thoughts on their respective phones? Bluetooth connectivity is the most important factor for me, and they both have it. I've read the following thread regarding BT phones:
Mac owners with BlueTooth cell phones
The SE T637 seems highly regarded, but the Nokia 6820 isn't mentioned. The T637 seems perfect for my uses, aside from its lack of email support. The 6820 also seems perfect, but it has a low-res screen. Does the 6820 support .Mac email accounts? Could users of these phones please provide me with some feedback on their performance, features, and integration with iSync? One specific question: As I understand it, the T637 won't sync photos with Address Book, but will the 6820? Please...any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Also, are there any other phones in the price range of these that I should consider? Thanks for any help!
Rob

One of my phones is a T630 and it works great with my powerbook. Most SE phones do. It doesn't sync photos with address book, but neither does me Z1010, or any other phone I have seen. According to Apple's iSync website, only a few 'smart phones' have this capability it seems.
No experience with a Nokia Bluetooth + Mac. It seems that only their very top end phones have bluetooth.

I have owned 2 Nokias and 2 SEs (currently have a K700i). I would definitely recommend the SE over the Nokia based purely on the fact that SE support open standards and therefore are much better supported by OS X. Nokia do not even seem to acknowledge the fact that the Mac platform exists and for that the do not get my business.
Ignoring the OS support I still prefer SE. I feel they are technically superior and better looking.
You're right that the T637 won't sync address book photos. Also I think the T637 should do email my T68i did and it's ancient now. Bluetooth support between Macs and SEs is excellent. I can't comment on the Nokia.

What email formats did your T68i support? Also, anyone know if the Motorola RAZR V3 is supported by iSync? Expensive, but damn that's a cool phone, and it's much cheaper through Amazon. Thanks for your help!

Nokia 6630. Best phone on the market. OK, you'll need a pda or have to wait for Tiger and MLSync for 100% compatibility with iSync (aka Tiger's .Mac Sync).
Still, it's bluetooth is flawless. And no reception problem as many SEs have. Camera and space is good, battery time is very good. And you can't beat Series 60 and 3G features.

I'd vote for the T637. I have one and it's one of the best phones out there for Cingular. It holds a great signal, has flawless bluetooth, and works perfectly with my Mac. Can't say enough good things about the phone!!!!
Not a fan of Nokias. Had many of them back in the day and they all were very subpar performers.
When I migrated to Cingular (from ATT where I had a T637), I looked at all the phones, including the Nokias. None of the Nokias were compelling. Screens were subpar, the UI was the same poor Nokia UI, just in color now. The only other phone that was remotely compelling was the V551, but Motorola's lack of BT sync killed that for me.

I just read something about the T637 that I dislike: in call history, you can't see the times of calls. Is this true? Why in hell would SE decide to leave out this simple feature?

you can see times of calls for today's calls but not ones prior to that. i agree, it's stupid.
email (pop/imap) works on the t637 on the other hand. but funny ssl-required setups don't. i couldn't get my school account working but .mac works with my phone. sending is a iffy proposition. the SE email client is inferior to that of the Nokia symbian phones imo. Nokia Series 60 phones _do_ sync pictures from the address book to the phone, btw.
overall i'd pick a series 60 phone, and i plan to return to that fold (as you might have gather from the other thread) once my contract runs out on my cingular T637.

Well, I got the SE T637. I like the phone, but the battery ran dead in just over a day with little use. I may have to return it, if I don't get better life out of the next few charges. I haven't had a lot of time to figure out every little nuance, but I've gotten bluetooth up and running, transferred my contacts via iSync, and downloaded and set up BluePhoneElite (awesome, by the way). I hope the battery life improves, because I can see myself loving this phone. Thanks to everyone on this forum who helped me with this decision. I greatly appreciate it.
