It usually takes 15 to 30 minutes before my friends PowerBook (Alu) connects to the DrayTek Vigor 2500; sometimes (rarely) the connection is immediate. My old iBook 2USB always connects without delay to the same Vigor.

OSX 10.3.7 is installed on both laptops. I've reinstalled Airport 3.3.1 software on the Powerbook, but no improvement.

The Vigor has 13 channels from 2412 to 2472MHz in 5MHz increments and is set to operate on channel 6.

Is that the same channel 6 as my iBook's Apple's Airport channel 6?

What else could I try? Exchange the Airport cards in the two laptops?

At the office, the PowerBook attaches immediately to the Apple Airport.
