Anybody use this? How is the software? We don't do a whole lot of scanning and we print mostly text documents. We don't need much so this one seems nice enough.
My mother won 2 of them so she is sending one to me. Gotta love that right It will replace my Epson CX5400. Anything is better than what I have right now. Here is a link:

Thinking of buying this for the Mini. Bump!
I'm getting $25 off and 100 Air Miles, so...any thought on this? Lexmark vs. Canon vs. hp

Lexmark is 110% garbage. The print quality sucks and the ink costs and arm and a leg. Look at Canons.
Hp is a small step above Lexmark but not by much.

I can say this about the printer:
If I wasn't free I wouldn't have it right now.
If I had to buy it I would be unhappy because it eats ink up fairly quickly.
The print quality isn't bad on text but I can't say much in the way of praise about pictures.
The software is easy to use.
It doesn't take up much space.
Anything beats the POS Epson that I owned before this one.
I don't have any experience with a Canon but I have always heard very good things. As far as HP printers go I have always had good ones but I haven't bought one in a few years. From what I read, recently, their quality has really gone down.
It is a good printer for what it is. If you need to do basic printing and scanning I would recommend it. Anything more than that I would go for something else.

What he said.
People get suckered because they either get the printer for next to nothing (most are sold at a loss) or free. They don't take into account that the cost for filling the printer with ink ONCE they can pretty much have a whole new Canon printer.
Add up the cost of the ink and re-evaluate things.
My mom has a working Lexmark she got for free years ago. It is out of ink but I rather pay a tiny bit more and get her a new Canon Printer that comes with full tanks of ink.
