has anyone here been able to use a bt headset on panther using ichat? cuz i do see an option under the bluetooth setup assistant for a headset, so i was wondering if this is possible at all? what else would you use a bt headset with on mac os x?

BT headsets will work fine with iChat.
After pairing the headset with the Mac, choose the headset in the Sound preference pane (both for output and for input).
