First time I set up my mini my new 17" TFT was recognized as 'VGA' (The monitor has a DVI port but I am still waiting for my cable to arrive) by OS X and it gave me a huge list of resolutions to choose from. The picture was very crisp, all as fine. After a few hours use the machine crashed, when I restarted it the screen resolution was reset to 800x600 and now the monitor is only recognized as 'Display' and the colours do not appear quite right.

Is there any way to reset what OS X thinks the monitor is? I have tried the 'Detect Display' button in Display preferences with no success. I've unplugged everything and put it back together again and still no change.

Anyone had a similar problem?
