Hi everyone,

I have a Rev. A. 12-inch PowerBook and a Relisys RLT1720 17-inch LCD TV with a VGA input.

The monitor has a native resolution of 1280 x 768 (WXGA). When I hook up my PB. That resolution is not available in the Displays control applet. It goes from 1024 x 768 to 1280 x 960 (which the monitor can't display).

Does anyone know how to get the native resolution available on the PB. I have checked with Relisys, but they only have a Windows driver available on their website.

If I use a lower resolution like 800 x 600 or 1024 x 768 the monitor expands the image to fill the widescreen and hence things look stretched :-(

Any ideas would be very welcome.

Thanks.

Its OK.

I have found a program called SwitchRes from http://www.madrau.com/ which seems so far to work perfectly.

Thanks.

HI! I have the same problem.
I have a G4 with a Radeo 9700 and a second Radeon PCI 7000 Mac edition.
I want to hook the Radeon 7000 to a SONY LCD TV. It has native 1366x768. But in the manual it says it only accepts 1280x768 at 60 Mhz. It is impossible for me to get this resolution (1280x768) to work!! The only resolution I manage to get is 1024x768!!
I also have switchres which I bought some time ago, but I doesn´t manage to get a custom resolution. Not 1280 nor 1366. I don´t know whitch parameters I have to enter into the fields. I tried a lot I read in HTPC forums, but this parameters seems to work only on PC´s!

If I can remember correctly, you can enter a custom resolution in the SwitchRes control panel thingy. You have to restart for the changes to take affect though. The new resolution should then be available in the SwitchRes menu item.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I restart the computer, and the resolution shows up, but The screen doesn´t accept the resolution. In the manual of the display it states that it accepts 1280x768 at 60 Mhz. Simply I didn´t know witch parameters to enter into switchres??

Has anyone else tried SwitchRezX with a 32" LCD with a 1366x768 rez?

My friend is thinking of getting a 32" LCD TV, which he might use with his MacBook pro from time to time.
