I broke down and bought a PC yesterday. In some ways it was a bit of a catharsis, in others it was sickening. The only thing that made it really palatible was that I got a new 23" apple display to go with it.

Now, I am waiting patiently for Tiger to come out, and then I plan to buy a new G5 to round out my computing life. I am hoping a new G5 announcement may drive prices down on existing models, or that something irresistable comes out.

Anyhow, when I upgrade on the Apple side, I will need to run both computers off the same 23" display. does anyone have advice on a DVI switch to use? Also, I didn't realize that the display requires USB and Firewire cables to be plugged in. Is there a switch that will allow you to plug all three cables into a single hub? If not, what is the work-around?

Thanks for the advice and for the condolences.

The new Cinema Displays use DVI, so you can connect it easily to your pc. You have only one connector, so you can't use both computers simultaneously.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Thanks for the input. I actually already am using the pc with the display. I bought a middle of the road graphics card with DVI output that supports the 23" resoluttion and it works like a charm. I have read that others have used a switch to use two computers on a single monitor. That's all I was asking....

Thanks

There are some DVI switches (e. g. by KVM) that do just that.
