I noticed when I was at the Apple Store, that webpages look very "small" when viewed with the 30" display.
The text is very small, but that can be remedied by increasing the text size.
the problem is that the webpage graphics and the GUI, looks off.
Anyone with a 30" display, and can comment about web browsing/viewing?
thanks

Firefox can set the font and font size for all pages, Opera can also zoom into pages, enlarging the text and images on the page. Otherwise, get a magnifying glass .

I just set up my 30" with the ATI X800 XT card yesterday. I have not changed my font size yet on Safari and don't seem to mind. I'm actually sitting a bit farther back from the 30" than I was from the 20" it replaced, too.

But back on topic - I would expect that as screen resolutions go up, web pages get smaller and that you might want to tweak font settings to adjust (or you could just revel in how incredibly large it makes your monitor feel)

If Apple is planing on continuing development of HD displays then a 'Opera style' Page zoom should be implemented in Safari. Just increasing the 'font size' is a fairly poor solution, as lots of sites not only use graphics for some of the text (page headers, titles and the like) they also make the images and page dimensions 'relate' to the size of the text. Having a 'Page zoom' keeps everything 'in proportion'.

that's what I was thinking.
that the graphics would look odd with the enlarged text.

The size of text shouldn't be any different on the 20", 23" or 30" displays; they all have a resolution of 100 dpi per the Apple website.
I think the text just looks small on the 30", since its natural to sit/stand further back from such a large display.
