Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has done iChat using an iSight over a wireless link ? A wirelees link should give around 4Mb/s so that should be plenty of bandwidth. What was the quality like , was full screen possible ? Was there any lag ? Thanks in advance.

My second question, is it possible to do a direct ip to ip connection without requiring an internet connection or aim/.mac account ?

I'm out of town for a few weeks, and I've been iChatAV'ing with my wife (me on my PB over airport, her on her iMac over airport). No problems.

Edit: second question - you can iChat via Rendezvous w/out an AIM account (still need a .Mac name though) if both machines are on the same subnet. But otherwise, you need to both have either .Mac names or AIM accounts.

Thanks for the reply. AS regards the wireless connection , I'm more wondering along the lines of wifi to wifi , not via the internet.

Is there any software that will allow two isights to video conference via tcp/ip ? I don't think iChat will do this.

Thanks again for your replies.

I may have found software that will allow a direct connection via tcp/ip , SquidCam. It will do multiplatform also. www.squidsoft.com/squidcam .I'll let you know how I get on.
