Does anyone have both of these devices?

I'm curious of the quality of the scaling from the EyeTV 500 with the HD signal, onto the 30" display?

The only reason I'd lean to the 23" display is because it's the exact resolution needed for the HD signal from the EyeTV 500.

I know that you can just use a window on the 30" display, but I would rather have it full screen .....

???

I have an EyeTV 500 with a 23" and when I play 720p, which is 1280x720, it has to be scaled up to fit the 23's full rez and it looks very good. I imagine the same would be the case for the 30" displaying 1080i.

Pretty much like this, only a little better as this is a jpeg from the original tiff screencap:

It pretty much looks like one of the best, most detailed TV's you have ever seen. It suffers a little due to the fact that a computer display is viewed much closer in general than a TV but from a few feet away the picture is magnificent and the detail is amazing, just look at Sulley's hair! I find myself watching HD stuff just for the sake of watching the pretty picture

That is a 720p, 1280x720, broadcast scaled up to to 1920x1080 to fill my 23" CD. I figured it would give you more of an idea of how the EyeTV 500 up-scales. When I first got it I was a 1080i bigot and looked down on 720p because it was lower res. But the progressive 60 fps nature does give a smoother picture in high motion scenes and does seem better suited in some applications.
