What does "the best quality printouts" mean? For text? For color photos? If you want the best text, get an inexpensive laser. Their cost per page is 1/4 of the cost of an inkjet. I have a Samsung ML-1210 (about two years old), and the current model is well under $150, and it costs about 2 cents/page, as opposed to 8 cents/page (or more) for most color inkjets. The text on a laser is much sharper than an inkjet, although a good inkjet can do a decent job, at a much higher cost. The Epson C86 is a decent quality inkjet printer, but it won't do if you want true photo quality; then I would look at their current photo lineup, or a Canon photo printer. Just remember, you get what you pay for.
