I just traded up and noticed that when I push the pwr button to put the system to sleep I get the "are you sure?" dialog. The Studio would simply sleep without the extra user input. And, the preferences appear to be identical...

On my new Aluminum 20" when I hit the sleep/power button, I get a box asking me if I would like to Sleep, Shut Down, or Log Off. I assume this is the same box that you are talking about? If so, I've never seen it any other way. Perhaps there is something different with the way this button works on the new displays?

No No. I just got this one last night. The studio clear frame 17" would immediately sleep when you pushed the pwr button. The new cinema displays "Sleep..." vs "Sleep" I guess. No biggie. Given the choice I just would have preferred the immediate sleep and I wanted to be sure I didn't have a defective model or was unaware of a modified display specific preference. Thanks, cSurfr

ps: I've also noticed that I can no longer Power Up the unit from the new Cinema 20. I have to reach under the desk and do so from the CPU.

The ADC interface/cable carried a special, separate line that triggered system startup. The standard USB interface/hub in the new displays do not, since power-on via USB is not "permitted" in the industry-standard USB spec (which is why Apple took it off their keyboards way back when).
