What microphone should I buy for a G4? I want to be able to use my Skype account. To test Skype, I dialed a phone in my house. Through the on-board speaker, I could hear my wife answer. But the microphone I have plugged in to the mic port on the G4 didn't transmit when i spoke into it. That mic came with a Performa that I had back in 1995. I assume it is no good or not compatible with my present computer. So what can I buy to replace it?
Would it make sense to buy a headset rather than just a microphone? I am willing to do that, but what headset would be compatible with my older (400 mhz) G4? (512 ram).
I would appreciate advice.

I believe that mic you tried using was a plaintalk mic, it's different than mics today if I recall correctly. I'm not sure of a mic you could buy, I'm currently looking into a bluetooth mic for my Aluminum Powerbook for use with Skype. The Jabra BT 250 looks good for bluetooth at least...

I use a Logitech USB headset and it works well with Skype. I occasionally have to unplug/replug it to get it recognized, but that's the only problem I've had.

I will toss the ancient microphone. Headset looks like the right way to go. Also, I looked at
http://forum.skype.com/
... some suggestions there.

Pricey solution, but the iSight with a pair of headphones should work...
