What is a high-quality Keyboard and Mouse USB switch? Anyone have good first-hand experience with one?
I want to share a Mac mini and a PC with a Dell LCD monitor. The Dell has both a DVI and a VGA input, and I don't have a DVI output on the PC. So a KM switch is good enough, since I figure it'll be a lot cheaper than a DVI KVM.

Did you ever find a solution to your setup? I have a similar problem. I have plenty of LCD's. I just need to get rid of a couple keyboards and mice.

I also have a Dell LCD monitor and it has USB ports on it. Can't you plug the keyboard and monitor into the LCD Monitor and then have the PC on VGA and Mini on DVI and when you want to switch computers just change the input which would consequently change the USB

Unfortunately, that won't work, because the monitor's USB ports only talk to one computer, not two.

Why not buy an analog KVM switch? Some analog ones won't care if the video signal is there at all so long as they are getting power from the keyboard port, and at least they are cheaper than DVI KVM switches (beware though: some auto-switch to the other input without a video signal - check the relevant user guides). If your PC has more than 2 USB ports, use them directly on the PC, while using the screen USB ports to bolster the mini's lack of ports.
Not sure that helps any, but....
