I don't use my scanner much, but over the weekend, I did want to scan something. Scanner has always worked perfectly for me. Can't recall the version of X that I was using the last time I scanned, so don't know if it is related to upgrade or not. Now I am being told that CanoScan can't find the driver. I deleted all the scanner files, went to the website and downloaded new software and drivers, but still no go. Question is, has anyone else found this problem? If it is the update that "broke" it, I'll just have to wait for updated drivers, but if there is something I can do in the meantime, I'd appreciate some help. Planning on a large photo scanning project, and would love to get this back working again.

Thanks in advance for any help!
Mary

Thanks, guess I'll have to dig around some more to determine what happened! Being told that it can't find the plug-ins. Now what do I do? I downloaded directly from the website. Not very plug-in literate, I'm afraid! Wonder why it stopped working? Oh, well, if I can find out something about plug-ins, maybe it will start working again.

Thanks again!
Mary

Ever consider using VueScan from Hamrick? I use it with my LiDE 30 and it works great, even under 10.3.8.

Thanks -- I had tried the trial version, and though it looks good, $50 is just too much to spend for no more than I scan. Especially when the software that came with the scanner worked just fine. Don't know what happened to it! Will just have to dig a little more.

Thanks again!

Don't know what your problem is, but I can tell you that my LIDE 30 works fine w/ 10.3.8. I will say however that there are some other bugs I have noticed with the new update. Most of them deal with my external LCD and some other peripherals hosing the system.
