I have a basic 128 mb USB flash-based drive. I use it for moving small items, like we all used to use floppies for.

I loaned it to a friend who used it for a week. He had to format it on his Windows machine. It is now formatted NTFS. When I try to use Disk Utility to format it, it won't let me. It says that it is "read only".

What must I do to get that NTFS crap off my flash drive?

HELP.

I think that you can highlight the drives icon in finder and then click command+i which brings up a window with a checkbox that says locked. it you uncheck it it should be read/write. Also many flash drives have a switch on the side that has two positions, like a floppy that can toggle it.
