.. on my HP LaserJet 1300. Can anyone tell me why, or give me some suggestions as to how to speed it up.
I'm not talking about exceptionally large files- maybe 80 to 120 kb.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ken

It all depends on how the text is being processed. If there is something formated funny from the PDF or it is an unsupprted font or such the PDF is sent to the printer as an image. and I think it winds up being around a 1mb per page tiff file. I have this problem with my work when I go to print users manuals from Manufactures websites. Some print 20 pages in a couple minutes. (when it actually prints as text); to 1-2 minutes a page as the image is recieved by the printer.
Quicksilver 867, 700mhz iBook, 1st Gen iPod, iSight, Newton 2100, and a 128k Mac. All operating and used on a constant Basis

So, is there any way to speed it up? Most of these pdf's are documents that I've scanned in as .tiff's, and then turned into pdf's using the File>Print>Save as pdf in Panther. So, they're probably being read as images rather than text. I'm using VueScan on an older Canon scanner.
More printer memory, maybe?
I'm open to any suggestions.
Thanks,
Ken

I've noticed similar problems with my LaserJet 1160 printing eBooks. Spooling/processing the PDFs takes like half an hour for a 300-page book. After that, though, the printing itself happens at a nice clip.
