I know this topic has been covered in the past, but all of my searches give results that are old and I hope out-dated

Anyone get a PB G4 USB to print to a parallel printer - specifically a HP Laserjet 6L?

Rumors have it if you pick up any old USB -> Parallel converter it will work with OSX. Just pick a LJ 5 or 6 when you set it up if the model isn't there.

I've got a LaserJet 5L connected by a USB-Parallel cable.

search for 'parallel' on MacOSXHints.com

As far as I remember - it only works properly if the printer was connected at startup.

You just want to make sure you're using a driver that's for PCL 5 (any printer with that standard).
He can be fixed -- you can't.
