Hello,

I was wondering if any other Mac users out there are using a Garmin Forerunner. If so, are you connecting it to the Mac? And how? Virtual PC? GPS Babel? Terrabrowser? GPSVisualizer.com?

I use it to keep track of my runs so my wife has an idea of where I tend to run. And its just kinda cool.

Right now I upload my Forerunner data to a PC at work, export the run data to XML, transfer that to my Mac, covert it to individual files on http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/ and then map it with GPS Visualizer.com as well. A lot of steps for something one program could do.

What are others' experiences? And, should we start a petition to Garmin to get software for the Mac?

I see the latest Forerunner has a USB interface, where the older models had a serial interface.

That should make it much easier to get some Mac software up and running.

I'm using a Foretrex (Forerunner on roids) with a Keyspan serial adapter and MacGPSPro.
http://macgpspro.com/

I use GPSylon to download my maps, import to MacGPSPro and calibrate them. From there I use MacGPSPro to record my mountain biking routes, plot waypoints, and upload the trail I want to ride.

Map calibration takes a while but I only have to do it if I ride a new area.

What? Forerunner with a USB interface? ...Off to Garmin to check for a Foretrex USB.

Edit: Back from Garmin no USB foretrex yet, forerunner 301 is very nice with heartrate and USB.
