There were once four people named Everybody, Somebody, Nobody and Anybody. Somebody had to do a job, but Nobody wanted to do it. Nobody could see that Anybody could do it, and Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Nobody ended up doing it, and it so happened that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done.

Not exactly sure what you mean. The display only displays what it gets sent by the video card, so as long as your video card isn't faulty it'll be fine - the display will be exactly the same quality on Mac or PC.

I've also heard reports where some ACD's do not display POST information. So you'd only see the display pop on once you get to the windows login.

That's to do with the video card unless I'm mistaken.
FWIW my Nvidia 5200 displays POST fine with my old style 20" ACD.

How did you hook up the ADC connector to the PC?

With the appropriate adaptor, of course.
But I don't know why anyone would buy an Apple display to go on a PC, when you could get an equivalent or better Dell model for 1/2 the cost.

After my horrific experience with Dell today I can make a few guesses as to the answer of that question.
(I thought they were bad a few years ago when I purchased my laptop ... but I could deal with them ... now they are horrible. I'd never buy a computer from these folks.)

"Buyer beware" is just as valid. I like Apple's displays, but they are not twice as good. In fact, the 23" model has severe quality problems.
If I were in the market for a display, I'd buy a Dell in a heartbeat. Most of Dell's customers are corporate buyers, and they won't tolerate high failure rates.
Dell also has a MUCH better warranty than Apple.

Question:
ON the Dell 24" display it has a bunch of "smartcard" readers (CF Card, Smart Media, SecureCard, etc.)
Do these work on the Mac?
What do you folks think of the value of the 24" display in comparison with the 20" widescreen from Dell? (I already know it's far cheaper than the 23" Apple)
