Try putting a $ sign before the password and I think that converts it to keys for you.

Well, you had way too many abbreviations in your question for me to know if I'm helping you or not -- I THINK you're trying to connect a Windows machine to your wireless airport network. I had to do this for my husband's laptop recently.

You'll find the equivalent password in the airport configuration. Launch the airport administration utility, then click on configure -- look under the various headings (can't remember the name right now -- sorry) and you'll find the WEP equivalent.

I THINK this is what you need, but I'm not sure.

Also -- try the Apple discussion boards. That's where I found my help on this particular matter when I needed it.

thanks for everyone's input.

bbales,

i was able to find my answer via this link. due to your suggestion.

i was able to connect my new sony psp handheld game to my airport network. i was able to connect my wifes pc laptop as well.

basically, if you use a regular password via wep, it get's translated to a hexidecimal wep key needed to connect to the airport if you are on third party hardware ie pc's, handheld's etc.

the link explains it much better. thank you again for the help.

ps. doing a help search via finder did not produce this. i found this link in the support discussions board on the apple website.

So it all works? Great! I'm glad I was able to point you in the right direction. That is something I knew absolutely nothing about until confronted with the situation -- fortunately, I stumbled upon some help. Glad to return the favor.
