From ATI's site:
"RADEON® 9800 PRO MAC EDITION requires connection to your computer’s internal power supply for operation. ATI recommends a 300-Watt power supply or greater to ensure normal system operation where a number of other internal devices are installed."
More specifically, devices that draw power off the 12V rail. Those are your hard disks, optical drives, graphic card and processor.
I assume there's a cable directly to the card from the power supply?
Anway, to check your power supply needs you need to know your power needs at the different voltage levels. The +12V is a popular line on modern systems and you need a lot of beef there to support everything you're plugging into it. The overall wattage of the power supply is meaningless if you overwhelm the 3.3, 5 or 12V rail.
