Hey everyone,
I just visited a friend and he has a problem: He has just installed Mac OS X 10.3.8 and has gotten a new HD to which he has moved all the old stuff by using Carbon Copy Cloner. Now, his printers do not work any longer. We have figured out that the OS update has removed his HP Deskjet drivers and that he needs to reinstall them (I haven't heard back since), but his Apple Select 360 still does not work.

When opening the Print Center "Add" dialogue, the printer is shown and the appropriate driver selected (via AppleTalk, btw), but clicking "Add" makes a dialogue pop up in which it says "Error occured" and it just does not work. However, the printer is always shown and some lights beep at the printer - so the communication is there and works.

Any ideas?

It is not clear whether your friend is trying to boot from the external or internal drive...

In any case, CCC is not perfect; I know this from personal experience. If the problem appeared after cloning, then you can suspect that CCC is the source of the problem. It sounds like either something that needed to be cloned wasn't, or something was deleted from the original volume.

Check out the CCC Web site; there is a lot of trouble-shooting info there. With any luck you will find a quick answer to your problem.
