I get the spinning beachball when booting up from my linksys router? when i disconnect, everything is fine. what could be causing this?

I'm afraid you'll have to explain your problem in more depth. I have no idea what "booting up from" your router means.

If you're trying to connect to the router, you have to be on the same subnet (192.168.1.X by default). If your computer's IP address isn't in that subnet, then you simply will not connect to the router.

Finally, routers are "network equipment," not peripherals, so you really should have asked in the Networking forum; you're more likely to get answers from people who have a clue about your issue there.
