Hi, I just got a new 120GB Seagate Barracuda hard drive and a Triumph Eagle USB/Firewire enclosure to make my own portable hard drive. The enclosure says it's compatible with OS9 but I was reading the install guide for the hard drive itself and it says the OS needs to support 48-bit addressing. In its list of OS's it only mentions OSX, not OS9.

I thought I'd take a minute and ask this forum if I'm in for any nasty surprises if I try to use it anyway or if I need to do any special configuration (set it up as less than 120GB?) or if I should just use a different hard drive altogether.

Any thoughts or advice greatly appreciated.
