Hi!

I've a Canon i450 printer connected to my mac (USB) and share it via CUPS/Gimp with a Win XP machine. Strangely, the Win machine prints MUCH faster than the mac. And the mac doesn't print black, but grey instead and fades the colors as well.
I've tried to print from the mac over CUPS/Gimp as well, but there's no appropriate Gimp-driver for i450. I can although print using an S450 driver instead, it works same speed than from the Win machine, but doesnt have the right paper size and i can't change. It prints about a quarter of A4. Maybe this problem is due to resolution differences between i450/s450?.

Are there Gimp-drivers for i450 model and where can i download them?
And why are mac os x native driver so slow?
Problem experienced under 10.3 and 10.4!

Umm, why don't you install the proper i450 driver from Canon?

That's the slow one i'm using now, so I i tried the gimp-driver, which works fast but zooms the prints.
