Hi,
I want to upgrade my TiBook from the stock 60 GB to a new Seagate 100GB drive, no problems here lots of tuts on the web etc. but right now Best Buy has the Seagate 100.0GB Drive Model ST9100801U on sale for $150 after rebates. This is a external 2.5 inch 5400 RPM drive with a USB 2.0 connection. What I want to do is to remove the 100 GB drive from the enclosure and put it into the powerbook and then put my 60 GB drive into the external case. Has anyone ever done this before? Any hints as to how to open the external hd case and comments would be appreciated.

I've never done it with the Seagate, but I have swapped drive mechanisms before.

Beware, though, that if you buy a "naked" Seagate drive, you get a 5 year warranty, if you buy an external Seagate, you only get 1 year.
