Hi,

I hope to be buying a 20" Cinema Display later this week.

I'm hoping that I'll be able to test the actual panel in the store and wanted to know whats the best way to check for dead pixels when you've got a sales guy breathing down your neck

Any help or advice that you have would be gretly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Matthew

There's a freeware app called PiXel Check. If you have a shuffle or USB drive, you can put the app on it, then plug it in and run the test at the store.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

Seems simple enough to me...just look at it. I wish I couldn't tell I had one.

Well, got my screen, which is absolutely gorgeous - even my wife thinks so.

Ran Pixel Check and as Far as I can tell, there are zero dead pixels - fingers crossed it stays that way.

Anyway, thanks again for all the help,

Matthew

Here's a strange issue....

30" Cinema Display running with my Dual 2.5.

It passes all pixel texsts (LCD TEST v1.1) with flying colors. Yet, I notice that with certain desktop pictures I use, some pixels will glow bright green in certain areas of the photos. They actually seem to radiate, meaning the intensity of the glow gros and dimishes very quickly, and repeatedly.

Anyone else experience this? Doesn't behave like typical "dead pixels".
