Hello All,

I just bought the Pharos iGPS Bluetooth receiver to help me navigate around Tokyo--YIKES!

I have a Powerbook (Tiger) with Virtual PC running the Mapsource software. I've used it before successfully with a USB connected GPS.

The Bluetooth manager recognizes the GPS::

Device Name: Pharos iGPS-BT

Device Address: 00-02-5b-00-a5-a5
Device Type: Unclassified
Device Services: GPS RFcom

Paired: Yes
Configured: Yes
Favorite: Yes
Connected: No
Serial Port: Yes

However, when I open VPC, Mapsource can't find the GPS.

Does the GPS need to be "Connected?" If so, how do I do that?

How do I find out which COM port the GPS is on? This is what the OS X Bluetooth manager says for Port name:

PharosiGPS-BT-GPSRFcom-1

I'd appreciate any help I can get,

Thank you,

Thad

I have the same problem; I have a Pharos BT GPS that I can't figure out how to get "connected" in OS X. The BT manager gives me essentially the same info as Thad, minus the "Serial Port" line:

Device Name: Pharos iGPS-BT

Device Address: 00-02-5b-00-a5-a5
Device Type: Unclassified
Device Services: GPS RFcom

Paired: Yes
Favorite: Yes
Connected: No

Any suggestions on how to connect?
