Any recommendations on a Firewire (and preferably also USB 2.0) hard drive enclosure?

I already have a spare 80 gig hard drive, i just need an enclosure to make it a backup drive.

also, have they started making Ethernet enclosures yet? I've started seeing "network" hard drives where you just plug the hard drive into your network, and it is available for any computer on the network to use as a network drive.

thanks in advance.

I don't have any experience with NAS (network attached storage), but I have posted in a few threads here about standard enclosures. You can search for those threads to see what other people wanted in an enclosure and what to look out for or you can search newegg.com for an enclosure since thats where most people here seem to get them from.

I have a macally fw (PHR-100AF) enclosure. Easy to put together and I've had no problems with it. At work we have 2 of the macally fw 800/usb 2.0 (PHR-100ACB) raided together, they have been on for months with no problems.

I'll check that one out.

I also found one on tigerdirect that I'm researchign as well:

that's probably the one I'm going to go with, pending reading a few reviews on it.

I have a Triumph TT-735 myself. It works great. Compact, quite (no fan) & looks cool. I don't know if they still sell this model. I think it has been replaced by the TT-736.

Slick shoes?!! Are you crazy?!!
