These need a firmware upgrade still or do they have enough out with the new firmware by now you think?
and now, the actual 'helpful' reply.
DVR-109 works in Tiger with the iApps, Disc Burning and Toast. Bootable and burns all media.
Now, there's two versions.. the DVR-109 and the DVR-A09. the A09 is the retail version, comes in a big retail box with a flashy faceplate on the drive door. Otherwise they have the same specs. Both are supported, regardless of the firmware they ship with. The latest is version 1.50, but 1.40 is the latest one of these drives will ship with because the 1.50 firmware was JUST released.
Keep in mind, if you flash one of these drives, that there are two d i f f e r e n t firmware versions(but with the same vers. number), one for either the 109 or the A09. They can be found on Pioneer's website. A lot of people 'crossflash' the 109 to an A09 for apparently faster ripping speeds.
Mine? I have a DVR-A09 with firmware vers. 1.13. I will flash it as soon as I'm able to access a PC. I've had the drive for about a month and I love it.
btw, chances are your drive will ship with something like, i dunno, vers. 1.17. Let me know if I was right.
goodluck, and google is your friend.
"DVR-109 mac tiger" is a good starting point at google.com
