I kinda wanna get the apple 20" display dispite the $900 cdn price tag (ouch) and i cant afford the 23" or the 30". However in looking at the tech specs of it i saw that it has a 16ms response time and a a 400:1 constrast ratio which is not that great. I mean i can get a samsung 19" 915n with 8ms and 600:1 ratio for under $450 cdn... I love apple stuff but is it worth the extra bucks to get the 20"? I am going to be buying a powerbook this fall and i wanna be able to hook my pc up to it as well for games and movie etc.

Of those two, i'd go for the samsung. Apple's just doesn't have anything to justify it, other than looks.

I agree with tooki, however for fast paced graphics nothing beats a good CRT.

If you like the 20" widescreen, consider getting a Dell 2005fpw. It has a 12ms response time and, with the frequent coupons Dell puts out, it can cost much less than the Apple display. Google dell coupons to find good coupon sites. One of them can be found here: http://www.dailyedeals.com/free_online_coupons/dell.htm

In fact, there is a 25% off sale on the 2005fpw now. If that expires, there will be more next week most likely.

Mac Mini - 1.42 GHz / 512 MB / 80 GB / 32 MB video

yeah. I use the Dell 2005fpw and play various Unreal games often on it. I'm picky, and I find this monitor to be just fine. No ghosting at all on games. Plus it's brighter and half teh price than the Apple 20"

For my very very occasional gaming the 20" ACD does its job for me but then it's primarily for work. Some good advice in this thread...

stuffing feathers up your b*tt doesn't make you a chicken.
