Greeting to all,

I'm currently looking for a external DVD-R/RW for my iBook G4.

My question is, can a DVD-R/RW (Windows compatible) be use for MacOS? Usually, I search the box for a MacOS logo to check for its compatiblity, and most of the time I only see a Windows logo.

Would appreciate any reply.

Cheers!
Digger.

Well, I have a Philips DVDR1640 inside a LaCie FireWire case, (it replaced the original Lite-On CDRW burner), so since the LaCie case is OK I just needed that the new burner, the Philips was OK for Mac OS X, (it is not supported natively) Patchburn did the trick (www.patchburn.de) giving support to the Philips burner. The autor claims that Patchburn gives support to kinda every burner out there.

Take a look http://www.patchburn.de/faq.html

If you buy a Mac external firewire DVD burner, it will work with a PC. The other way around... I don't know.
