I just got a Samsung D500 cell phone that has Bluetooth. I have no problem sending files from my PowerBook to my phone. I can browse my PowerBook from my phone via Bluetooth.

When I try to send pictures from my phone to my computer via Bluetooth, it always fails. Also, when I try to browse my phone from my PB, no files show up.

Anyone know what I should do?

Send feedback to Apple. Maybe they just haven't supported it yet because it's so new.

I want a full report on this phone - I want a slider! Where'd you buy, and how much?

Well, the phone doesn't work with iSync but since I can send files from my computer to the phone, I would assume I could send files from my phone to my Mac.

I've had it for almost a week. It comes with about 96 megs of memory and a 1.3 megapixel camera. I haven't been able to see image quality yet since I haven't been able to transfer images onto my computer but I've heard it's quite good for 4x6 prints. The camera has a flash but from what I can tell, the image quality diminishes greatly at night with the flash.

If you already have an iPod, then the 96 megs of memory will be more than enough for you. If you want to use the phone as say, an MP3 player, too, you could carry maybe 15 songs with you at a time. The D600 that is coming out will have an external memory card so if you want to use the phone as an MP3 player, the D600 will be a better option. Also, the D600 will have a 2 megapixel camera.

As for the phone itself, I get good reception with it. The speaker is also quite loud so I don't have a problem with hearing calls. There is also a speakerphone option. There are polyphonic and MP3 ringtones you can set for calls but not text messages. One drawback to the phone is that if you want to set an image to a person in your phonebook, their info has to be saved on the phone as opposed to the SIM card.

All in all, I'm very satisfied with my phone. It looks great and like you, I really wanted a slide phone. I got it locally for $250 and had to renew my plan for a year. I've seen it on eBay for around $350 + shipping. I'm sure prices are continually dropping.

Well, I got the issue resolved. I went to the local Apple Store and tried sending a file to a Powerbook there and it worked. So I came home, installed the latest security update for Tiger and it works now.
