Does anyone have a JVC GR-D53 DV camcorder working with iMove HD on Tiger or any older version of iMovie?

My Canon camcorder (18 months old, hardly used) stopped working just as we are about to have a new baby, and I needed an inexpensive replacement. Amazon.co.uk are selling that JVC at half price, a bargain for a camera with analogue in and DV in - but will it work with iMovie?

Apple's list of supported camcoders seems a tad US-centric and the GR-D53 is a European-only model - Apple do say they support the GR-D33 which is a cheaper model from the same range.

JVC UK have a list of their cameras which work with iMovie but it hasn't been updated for a couple of years.

I have the JVC camcorder but am a bit too scared to open it until I know it'll work with iMovie - I can't return it to Amazon once I've opened the box!

for the purposes of anyone doing a Google search as much as anything - I can confirm that the JVC GR-D53 does indeed seem to work with Apple iMovie HD on Tiger... (Mac OS 10.4) - a real bargain at Amazon at £199
