My keyboard port will not work on my KVM switch. This is my fourth switch and it seems to happen sooner or later everytime I get a new one.

Here are my specs:

Computer 1- Compaq, Windows XP, Compaq USB keyboard, Kensington wireless mouse, plus Compaq monitor

Computer 2- Mac Mini

KVM switch- Iogear Micro Mini (something close to that)

Everytime the power goes off I experience this problem when I boot back up. This last time I just shut the computers down and it stopped working.

I can plug the keyboard into the mouse port, but can't get the hotkeys to work then. I've switched everything around, unplugged everything, started from scratch, etc, and it still won't work. Iogear says that it's not a normal malfunction, but like I said, it's my fourth time!

any help?

It looks like your setup is pretty complex, and that's what's allowing the KVM to give you problems. First, I'd suggest trying everything with directly connected keyboard AND mouse; some KVMs get confused by wireless mouse receivers.

I think the IOGear focus on Mac Mini products is great, but maybe they don't have everything quite "right" yet. Is this your fourth of the same model, or fourth model?

This is my fourth of the same model. The reason being is that I bought it from Best Buy and now they'll only send it back to the company instead of a refund.

I have also tried this set-up with a usb mouse. same results.
