I received a new Tungsten T5 yesterday and cannot sync with iSync 2.0. iSync does not even recognize my T5. When trying to install an iSync conduit in the Palm HotSync Manager, the following error message presents:

"The HotSync software is not properly installed or it has never been opened. Try opening HotSync Manager (in the Palm folder in your Applications folder), then return to iSync and choose Devices > Enable Palm syncing again."

This does nothing for the problem. I have trashed every file even remotely relative to Palm and reinstalled from scratch, to no avail.

I would prefer to use iCal and address book. Any and all help is greatly apprciated.

Did you install the iSync conduit for Palm? If not, get it from Apple's iSync page and install it. Hopefully, that's it.

The conduit is included in iSync 2.0, and thus, it is not necessary to download separately.

I was able to fix the problem by deleting all references to Palm on my Mac (thank you Spotlight), reinstall from the original Palm installation CD, download the new Palm software from Palm One, and apply the upgrade. iSyc now works.

The problem I incurred was a result of not installing the original Palm software prior to administering the upgrade.

Problem solved. Thanks for the input.

Cool. Glad you got it to work. You also might want to give Mark/Space's Missing Sync a look. I use it with my T3, and it really does make life a little easier and more interesting. It's a pain to pay extra for software that you should just get after dropping such a big dime on the hardware, but such is life for us Mac users.
