Same here, looking for a stand for the 17". Preferably while using the laptop keyboard. Would like it to be elegant and "applish" in style.

I like my Targus Cool Pad. Puts the keys at a great angle for typing, raises the back of the PB just enough. I think the current ones are a bit different than what I have, but I'm sure they would also be good. Comes in white or black.

Good luck!

iCurve. Check the PowerBook setup thread and see how many iCurves are being used.

i like the ilap and the koolpad, but am curious as to how well the aluminum stand will cool the bottom of my powerbook. since the stand goes across the entire bottom (i.e. there is as little air cooling the bottom as there is without the stand) i wonder how good it works as a heat sink. any thoughts?

doesnt the icurve make the pb stand 4 inches above the desk though? i was looking at those when I was going to just use my laptop like a desktop while at home, but i decided against that because my monitor sucks.

purchased http://www.theirac.com/ a while ago. while this is strictly a desktop stand (no lap support. etc.) and not super convenient to carry around, it does a decent job to elevate the back of my iBook and lift the entire laptop off the surface.

$15 (incl. S&H), can't beat that.

I like my Vantec Lapcool2. Adjustable fan speed, USB powered, solid construction.

Thanks for the link. Very cool and stylish stand.

To dislike Sinatra is a sign of highly questionable taste. To dislike the Beatles is a serious character flaw.

iCurves are cool (I have one), but they suck if you want to use the laptop keyboard. Too much flex.

The XT-Stand looks very cool.

Get a bluetooth mouse/keyboard and an iCurve. It's the sweet setup.

As mentioned above, I have both with my 17. I keep the PB the iCurve when it's sleeping and when I'm working with an external keyboard/mouse setup.

The XT-Stand is very stable and there's no bounce. It's also quite portable and I love it on the road. I just prefer the iCurve's height but both are A+ stands.
