Hi
I just got a lacie external firewire 800 harddisk from a friend
it is currently formatted with an NTFS file system. I know i can
only read and not write to this filesystem. i don't need to use
the disk with windows at all so which is the best file system
to convert the disk too when formatting. I am using latest tiger.
do i just convert it to the mac os journalled file system that my
powerbook uses or are there advantages to using another filesystem
I will probably just be using it to store and run all my photoshop images and
music. should i run photoshop from the external hard disk as its alot
faster than the disk in my laptop
tried searching but search keeps crashing
Thanks

Format as HFS+ journaled.

Running PS from the external disk would give you almost no advantage, but defining it as scratch disk (for the virtual memory) my bring you a benefit.
