hi guys. I just (partial switch from pc) got my first mac (a mac mini) and i also got the wireless keyboard/mouse from apple. my friends who have G4 ibooks have had the letters rubbed off their ibook keyboard. My friend with a 1.5 year old ibook now has 5 or 6 keys gone, and he babies his ibook like no other.

my question is, does wireless keyboard have painted on letters like the ibook, and do any of you have wireless keyboards with the letters rubbing off already?

I don't want to get one of those iskins for the keyboard, but i may have to since i don't want to have a blank keyboard.

also, have any of you heard any more rumors about a 2 button wireless mouse from apple? i read some blurb about it on appleinsider or thinksecret a while back. i love the mouse, but i'm getting tired of hitting the "open apple" key to open a new tab.

thanks

Depends on the usage, but I would say that it's no common problem that the letters disappear. It happens, but only in a verly limited number of cases. See, nobody will post something like "hey, I have my iBook now for five years and the letters are in perfect condition", people of course only post when there's a problem.

Get the keyboard, it's awesome. And don't rely on "two button Apple mouse" rumors. If they ever bring out a 2-button mouse, sell yours and get the other one. That said, get a good three-button mouse in the first place.
