I have a PowerBook 15 hooked up to a kvm switch with a pc currently. Both machines are sharing a mouse, keyboard and monitor.

My keyboard recently has been acting up, and i'm considering buying the mac keyboard for it (it looks slick). Will this work in the KVM with the PC? How about if I purchased a mac mouse? Would that work on the PC with the kvm? What about the 2nd mouse button?

Thanks!

USB mice are entirely universal. So are USB keyboards, except that the command/Windows and option/alt keys are reversed.

So the keyboard should be fine.

What about the 1 button mac mouse? The clear one? How does that work in a PC buttonwise? Would i just lose the control of the second mouse button?

Yeah, the single button just acts as the left mouse button.

I just ordered a Kensington PilotBoard for a similar application-Buy.com has it for about $22. It actually has the correct markings for both Mac and PC. Out of curiosity, what KVM model are you using?

I highly recommend the Macally iceKey. It's phenomenal.

I'm using an IOGear I got from frys. Usually 59.95, and was on sale for 39.95.

Works perfect!
