4-port USB hub isn't recognized?

I bought a small 4-port USB hub from micro innovations. The hub is stated to be PC and Mac compatible but on my G5 iMac I get nothing even though it is being powered as per the LED on the hub. Am I supposed to do anyhting to activate it in the system? There are no drivers or anything for it.

never mind. The printer jut doesn't like it. Other devices work ok.
