It wont work whenever I try to send a picture or mp3 file to my mac from my V551. This screen comes up and never goes away.

besides needing more information from you to even begin helping you solve your problem, I'd rather mention one (of quite a few) thread(s) further down the page on this very forum, in which a gentleman is using the V551 fantastically well with his Powerbook and Tiger.
Tiger/Panther?
internal bluetooth? usb device?
does it work with iSync?
can you send files from the mac to the phone?
mhm.
me, 10.4.2, razr, and linksys USB dingleberry all love each other.

I'm also using the exact phone (mine is 2 weeks old) with my 12" powerbook with Tiger 10.4.2. It's working great and I've sent pictures back and forth as well as mp3s. So it is possible.

Same here with a v620 (similar phone) on a G4 (spec below) OS X 10.4.2 with a USB D-Link Adapter. No Problems.

It can be more reliable to go to Bluetooth File Exchange -> File -> Browse Device and take the pictures off directly.

Yes I've sent files to it from the mac.
Is it iSync 2.1? (I'm fairly sure you can upgrade to .4.2 and still be running iSync 2.0)
Strange that it's working one way only.. I'd try what Maxintosh said and try browsing the V551 from the Mac
